JAMMU: The Department of English in collaboration with the Department of Life Long Learning of University of Jammu, Jammu organised a two-day workshop on Communication Skills and Personality Development.
The workshop was inaugurated by Simrandeep Singh, (IAS) Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, who also shared his school and college life experiences and how different activities at these institutions helped him in shaping his career. He stressed on the need to give such platform and exposure to the students for all around development of their personalities he deliberated that effective communication skills is a key factor in deciding one’s success in professional as well as personal life. He appreciated the college management and the organizing committee for taking initiative in this regard.
Prof. Poonam Dhawan, Director Department of Life Long Learning and Dean Academic Affairs, University of Jammu, Jammu, in her message assured the college of all the possible assistance in developing the career of students through such training programmes.
Earlier in his welcome address the Principal of the College, Dr. Ajeet Angral advised the students to take maximum benefit from such programmes so that they can compete in the job market at National and International level.
While addressing the participants the Convener of the workshop Prof. Ruth K. Masehi elucidated on the theme of the workshop.
More than 100 students from different colleges of Jammu Division are participating in this workshop.
The programme coordinator Prof. Neeraj Sharma alongwith the members of organizing committee made all the necessary arrangements for a result oriented workshop with maximum participation of the students.
The programme was compeered by Abhinav Salgotra while the vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Shalini Rana.
