Womenfolk should be aware against domestic violence, other social evils: Reasi Police

REASI: Continuing innovative initiative regarding public outreach programme Reasi Police organized one day awareness camp on protection of woman from domestic violence, illicit liquor, narcotics menace and human trafficking at Police Station Pouni. On this occasion womenfolk, including public representatives, girls from Ransoo, Pouni and adjoining area participated. During the Programme resource person SI Vijay Kumari Incharge Women Cell Reasi and SHO Pouni Insp Vijay Sharma apprised the participants about different aspects and dimensions of woman empowerment. Elaborate lectures were delivered on the topic of domestic violence, illicit liquor menace and its effects on womenfolk and human trafficking. During the camp the resource person explained the definition, types, legal remedies available to address the issues of domestic violence against women. The role of Police in providing timely protection, and legal aid beside facilitating the dignified rehabilitation of victims of domestic violence. Sr Superintendent of Police Amit Gupta-JKPS Conveyed that to aware womenfolk Reasi Police started this innovative initiative of organizing such camps through Women Cell Reasi which are must to provide awareness among women of rural area and more such camps will be organized in rural areas of district Reasi in coming days.People of the area in general and Womenfolk in particular appreciated the initiative of district police Reasi in organizing such camps for women of rural area.
