Woman among two killed, 28 injured in mishaps

JAMMU/ SRINAGAR: A woman among two persons were killed while 28 others got injured in separate mishaps here on Tuesday.
A woman was killed while 20 others got injured when a bus ferrying members of a marriage party collided with a mini-bus in Bishnah area. Details revealed that a bus carrying Baratis on way from Jakh to Nandpur collided with a mini bus near village Majua Uttami, Bishnah as the driver lost control over it due to over-speeding.
A woman identified as Trapita Devi, 40, wife of Mohan Lal of Jinder Khurd, Bishnah died on the spot while 20 others suffered injuries. The injured persons were hospitalized immediately.
Meanwhile, at least eight persons have sustained injuries in a road mishap in Kupwara district. As per the details, two vehicles collided along Kupwara-Srinagar NH here at Tutigund area. The injured have been identified as Asif Peer, Abdul Majeed Magray, Firdous Ahmad Sofi, Safoora Begum, Aamir Manzoor, Abdul Hameed, Rayees Ahmad and Irshad Ahmad. All injured were shifted to nearby hospital for treatment.
Pawan Kumar, son of Janak Raj, resident of Jad, Akhnoor who was on a bike with his friend, was hit by an unknown vehicle, due to which Pawan died on the spot.
