POONCH: The Principal District and Sessions Judge Poonch Ashok Kumar Shavan has awarded 3 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 2000 to three accused namely (1) Ulfat Hussain (2) Abdul Qayoom and (3) Sabar Hussain for offences under sections 316/324/323/34 of RPC. Further, imprisonment of six months and a fine amounting to Rs 1,000 for offences under sections 324/323/34 of RPC was awarded to accused Naseem Akhter in FIR No 205/2013 registered at Police Station Surankote.
As per details of case, FIR was registered on November 1, 2013 on written complaint of one Rajab Rehman, son of Mehfooz Ahmed, resident of Fazlabad Surankote, wherein it was alleged that when complainant along with his mother was lifting grass from a field, the accused were also collecting grass from nearby fields. The complainant further alleged accused started abusing them and inflicted injuries on them. Thereafter, on obtaining Medical opinion offence under section 316 of RPC coupled with other offences established against them, the case was fixed for final orders. The Sessions Judge convicted them as prosecution succeeded in fully corroboration of both Medical and oral evidence and charges proved against them beyond reasonable doubt. Maqbool Hussain Public Prosecutor for UT represented prosecution while Advocate Shokat Amin Manhas appeared on behalf of accused persons.
