JAMMU: The Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) has announced winter vacations for all government and recognised private schools falling in the summer zone areas of Jammu Division, as per an official order issued on Saturday.
According to an order, issued by DSEJ, students from pre-primary to Class 5th will observe winter vacations from December 22, 2025, to January 10, 2026. For students of Classes 6th to 8th, the vacations will be from December 26, 2025, to January 10, 2026, while students of Classes 9th to 12th will remain on winter break from December 29, 2025, to January 10, 2026.
The order further states that all teaching staff shall remain available during the vacation period for any academic activity if required. It has also been directed that the teaching staff must report back to their respective schools on January 10, 2026. The Directorate warned that any default or violation of the prescribed schedule by the heads of institutions or teaching staff will invite strict action under the relevant rules.
