Winning start by J&K beach volleyball team at national

JAMMU: The home team of volleyball started their campaign on winning note in the 17th National Beach Volleyball Championship being organised by Puducherry Volleyball Association at Karaikal (Beach) in Puducherry on Friday.
J and K faced a strong team of Chhattisgarh in their inaugural match.
J and K won first set by 21-11 points and in second set continued their superb performance and won it by 21-18 points. At the end of two sets the score was 2-0 sets in favour of J and K.
In another match, J and K team won their consecutive second victory against Uttar Pradesh in straight 2-0 (21-12, 21-10) sets. The Jammu and Kashmir team comprised of Imtiaz and Jafar, who played a brilliant game and made the Jammu and Kashmir State proud.
Meanwhile, in the beach volleyball only best of three sets are played as per standard Federation of International Volleyball (FIVB) norms in which game point is 21, said Chief Executive Officer, Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir (VAJK), Kuldip Magotra. He appreciated the State team for doing well at national level despite lack of infrastructure in the Jammu and Kashmir for beach volleyball.
President VAJK, Sidharth Daluja, Senior Vice President, H.S Gill, Chief Executive Officer, Kuldip Magotra, Hony. General Secretary, Vijay Kumar Magotra and Treasurer, R.C Sharma congratulated the team and the Coach Sajad Hussain for their excellent performance and wished them for good results in the forthcoming matches in the championship.
