JAMMU: Outgoing Deputy Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Tara Chand on Saturday met number of people and party workers at his residence and thanked them for casting votes in his favour in the recently held State Assembly elections.
He said, “I honour the verdict of people and assure that I will continue to serve people of the State to the best of my ability”. He said that the policies of the Congress Party which had always been secular and people friendly will continue to be the same.
He also appreciated the contributions made by party workers during the elections and said that he would continue to work for the development of the State in general and Constituency in particular. He assured the people that he will always remain available to them for mitigating their problems. Divulging on the pro people policies of Congress, he said that taking care of people and working selflessly for providing succour to them is the sole aim of party leadership.
