KARGIL: Recently PDP has expelled Tashi Gyalson president of PDP Leh for signing the memorandum which was submitted to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh demanding Union Territory Status (UT) for Ladakh. On similar lines, opposition National Conference also issued show cause notice to its party president of Leh Unit.
Both the parties have termed it as against the party principles and took serious action against these leaders.
However, Congress Leh President Tsering Samphel and MLAs Nawang Rigzin Jora and Deldan Namgyal have also signed the memorandum in which they have also voiced for separation from Jammu and Kashmir demanding Union Territory Status for Ladakh.
Now all eyes are on Congress leadership that whether the party high command shall dare to take action against its leaders following the precedence set by Peoples’ Democratic Party and National Conference or this party has different political stand on the issue.
In Kargil also National Conference and Congress leaders from Zanskar including Tsering Angdus (NC), Punchok Tashi (NC) and Skalzang Wangyal (Cong-ress) have also demanded Union Territory status but no action has been taken against them till date.
