JAMMU: A senior Army officer on Tuesday visited Romeo Force headquarters to review the prevailing security environment and reinforce the counter- terrorism grid in the twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.

General Officer Commanding of Jammu-based White Knight Corps Lt Gen P K Mishra’s visit to Romeo Force headquarters in Rajouri comes amid heightened vigil in the wake of recent infiltration bids by terrorists from across the border.

On March 10, Army troops gunned down a Pakistani terrorist of proscribed Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) outfit during an abortive attempt to infiltrate into this side in Nowshera sector of Rajouri.

β€œGOC, White Knight Corps, visited Romeo Force to review the prevailing security environment and reinforce the counter terrorism grid. The visit focused on operational posture and strengthened coordination mechanisms across formations,” the White Knight Corps said in a post on X.

The Army said Lt Gen Mishra emphasised exemplary operational conduct, sustained readiness and heightened vigilance to ensure robust protection. (PTI)
