JAMMU: Drenched in patriotic fervor, the picturesque Kashmir Valley is beaming the vivid saga of young and the old making the national campaign of Har Ghar Tiranga a grand success. The colorful visuals of the enthusiastic bike and boat rallies, dominating prime time slots on the national television channels, must be worrisome for a few some-like Mehbooba Mufti, who is on record having dared the mighty India, saying if Article 370 is tinkered with, there won’t be anybody to hold the Tricolour.
The people in Kashmir are proudly carrying Tiranga in rallies and various other events besides hoisting it at their houses-Har Ghar Tiranga. This all is happening in a place infamous for ‘Ragdo Ragdo’, once upon a time, when the anti-national elements used to trample Tiranga under their feet in full media gaze. The virus of this ugly scenario had even travelled to parts of the Jammu region. On November 22, 2017, a most provocative and indecent incident happened in the Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University in Rajouri when disrespect was shown towards the National Anthem in presence of the then Governor N. N Vohra. Two students were booked for capturing the ugly moments of the disrespect on their mobile phones and taking selfies. Sometime later pro-Pakistan slogans were raised in Nowshera in the rally of a former MLA.
Now the scenario is quite different. The visuals emanating from the Valley are inspiring. Tiranga rallies in the cities, towns and rural areas speak a lot about the changing times. The mood was captured in the world famous Dal Lake where Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha flagged off the Tiranga Rally.
This is how LG has shown the way, proving the adage, ‘Where there’s a will, there’s a way’. Kashmir has transformed and traversed a long way, which is why the nationalistic campaign like ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ is evoking huge response and witnessing variety of activities in different departments and in schools all over the Union Territory in general and the Kashmir Valley in particular.
Painting, National Anthem singing, essay competitions, quiz programmes, debates and seminars are being held in the colleges, schools besides, Tiranga Rallies, Flag hoisting on buildings as well as homes are also being held across the districts.
The spirit of the young generation is so high that they have started preparations for the event many days before with regular rehearsals. Students are proactively participating in various activities and events and are very excited to perform in upcoming Independence Day functions. The students are also taking part in quiz, essay, painting and debate competitions on varied topics of National Symbols, National Monuments, Freedom Struggle and other related topics.
The Department of Rural Development, FCS&CA, MCs, Poshan Mission and Health are also organising awareness programmes, Tiranga Rallies, Flag Hoisting ceremonies, highlighting the importance of the celebrations.
Similarly, other departments are also conducting programmes in order to spread the message of Har Ghar Tiranga campaign to all people.
Flags have been distributed in all the districts and Tiranga has been hoisted on many establishments, private buildings and residences across the districts besides preparations are also in full swing for the Mega event of Har Ghar Tiranga between today till August 15.

Police Force (CRPF). A cordon-and-search operation has been launched to nab the culprits, they added. The grenade attack came two days after four soldiers were killed in a pre-dawn strike by two terrorists on an Army camp in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district.
