Maulana Azad (MA) Stadium, built in 1966 on the banks of Tawi River, has a seating capacity of 20 thousand people. The last international match here was held on December 19, 1988 between India and New Zealand, which ended without result due to rain. Apart from this, the only women’s test match took place between India and West Indies on 27-29 November in 1976, in which India lost. In 1985, a One Day International match took place between India and New Zealand, in which India won. This stadium is one of the home grounds of Jammu and Kashmir cricket team.
