Week-long Football Camp by Arun concludes at Dehradun

JAMMU: A week-long football coaching camp for young boys and girls by international footballer from Jammu, Arun Malhotra and his team, concluded at Dr B R Ambedkar Stadium on Wednesday.
“The motto of holding such camps was to educate young kids about the basics of football and to provide a positive platform where they could spend their summer holidays learning the game they love to play,” said Arun.
Around 135 young boys and girls involved in this first of its kind coaching camp in Dehradun. “Serving and some of the retired footballers of the ONGC have initiated the camp so as to guide the youngsters,” informed state sports awardee, Arun Malhotra.
Finding the activity something useful and productive, the sports administration of the ONGC assured those involved in holding this camp of support in their future endeavours.
However, this event was also supported by the ONGC and other retired officials having football background.
“This camp was similar to one organised at Khel Gaon, Nagrota in Jammu,” further said Arun Malhotra. Arun serves with ONGC and presently posted at Dehradun.
The technical team included Monika Bisht, Jyoti Rawat, Jitu Chetrri, Kamini , Avinash Popeye, Anjali, Routela, Pramod Thapa, Naveen Bhandari, D S Bisht, I Ahmed, Shiv Nath, Manmohan Negi and Anand Joshi.
