JAMMU: Water Works (PHE) Employees Association extended its support to protest being held under the banner of J&K Government Employees, Casual Labourers, Workers and Pensioners United Platform (JKGECWPUP) scheduled for 8th November at Divisional Commissioner Office Panama Chowk in Jammu.
This was decided in a meeting of the Association held under the Chairmanship of Shiv Kumar Sharma, Provincial President. He said that more than 60,000 Daily Wagers are still waiting regularization for the last more than 20 years but the State Government has not come up with a viable and logical policy for this working class.
The Central Govt has already implemented the 7th Pay Commission recommendations for its employees and pensioners whereas 2 per cent DA has been released thereafter.
This is a matter of dismay that the State Government has not yet implemented the 7th Pay Commission benefits, he added. He stressed on maintaining unity and solidarity among all the employees and the pensioners of the State. He appealed to the employees, daily wagers and the pensioners to make the November 8 protest a big success with maximum participation.
