Warm farewell accorded to Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar

JAMMU: The Bench Secretaries, Joint Registrars, Deputy Registrars and Readers of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday organised a function to bid adieu to Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar, who superannuates on 30th January, 2017 as Judge of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir.
The function was presided over by Justice N. Paul Vasanthakumar, Chief Justice, High Court of Jammu and Kashmir accompanied by Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar, Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir, Justice Alok Aradhey, Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur, Justice Ali Mohammad Magray and Justice Tashi Rabastan.
Joginder Singh, on behalf of Bench Secretaries and staff of the High Court, lauded the head and heart qualities of Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar and described him humble, modest and compassionate human being.
Reminding Justice Attar’s long journey which started in 1977 when he did his LLB, Joginder said Justice Attar remained Additional Advocate General from 1997 to 2002 and appointed as Special Public Prosecutor in various cases.
Elevated as Additional Judge of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir in the year 2008 and appointed as permanent Judge of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir in the year 2010, Joginder added, Justice Attar contributed to development of law by delivering many landmark judgments.
He wished Justice Attar on behalf of Bench Secretaries and Readers very happy birthday and peaceful and prosperous post-retired life.
Earlier, bouquet was presented by Mohammad Yasin Beigh, Joint Registrar to Justice Attar and a memento was presented as mark of remembrance by the Chief Justice and companion Judges.
Speaking on the occasion, Justice Attar said, “We have the best people available in our staff.” He appreciated the role of Bench Secretaries and Readers in the discharge of judicial functions and lauded their working and thanked for their assistance and support in the discharge of judicial functions.
Justice R. Sudhakar appreciated the head and heart qualities of Justice Attar.
Baldev Raj, Bench Secretary, who conducted the proceedings of the programme, presented vote of thanks and expressed gratitude of the Chief Justice and companion Judges for gracing the occasion.
