When war of words broke between Ram Madhav and Omar over handling Kashmir
STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Hours after delegation of opposition leaders from J&K led by working President of the National Conference Omar Abdullah stepped out of the Rashtrapati Bhawan after meeting President Pranab Mukherjee, a war of words broke out between BJP National General Secretary Ram Madhav and National Conference leaders on the popular social networking site.
Training his guns towards the politicians, who called on President of India and requested him to urge upon the central government to find a solution to the present Kashmir crisis politically rather than administratively, Madhav apparently teased them by tweeting,”Talk of political solution is only to score political points. They did nothing to help State bring normalcy instead helped spread unrest”.
Immediately responding to the tweet, Omar Abdullah commented by saying, “Why don’t you name us instead of just these snide, sly tweets? I challenge you to prove that any of us spread unrest”.
In retaliation Ram Madhav went on to tweet,” They talk of political solution bt nvr clarify what it is 2 d rants of Azadi. In power they nvr offered it when stones were pelted at them”.
In another veiled attack on the politicians, Madhav raised the bar too high by writing another provocative tweet, “When govt hosted I-Day in all districts n Ministers went 2 hoist tricolour most of d worthies were simply absent. That’s political solution”.
Angry Omar hit back by writing, “you have your IB, MI, RAW, CID. Stop tweeting about us spreading unrest & go use your evidence to file sedition case”.In another tweet Omar explained, “We have offered you solutions both while in power & out of it but you are deaf to what you don’t like hearing!”
While this war of words was expanding, PDP spokesperson also chipped in with series of tweets to corner Omar and other NC leaders. PDP spokesperson tweeted, “The guns and insecurity in the valley was inherited by us from the previous govt. We became the minesweepers for their deeds”.
“The same political forces who are responsible in the first place for the turmoil in Kashmir are revivifying disorder “tweeted PDP spokesperson.
Calling for peace PDP spokesperson also tweeted, “We all collectively need to bring J&K out of this turmoil and this is not possible with violence, disorder or guns”. At this moment Omar once again reacted sharply by tweeting, “What is it about us meeting the Hon President that has both @BJP4India & @jkpdp lashing out at us? Is meeting President anti-national?
His close aide Tanvir Saddiq joined his leader saying,”[email protected] didn’t evn gve a cursory glance 2 autonomy report passed by 2/3rd majority of the state legislature”.
Ravinder Raina versus Abdullahs
One of the most vocal BJP legislators Ravinder Raina on Saturday, while condemning the statement of Omar Abdullah trained his guns towards his family by posing a straight question to him “What was Omar’s grandfather, father and Omar doing all these years after 1948 when their party and Congress were ruling the Kashmir.”
Raina said the unrest in Kashmir valley started after the killing of Hizbul Mujahedeen terrorist Burhan Wani but these Kashmiri politicians are distorting the facts and exploiting it for their own political motives.
He said Omar should not play politics on Kashmir unrest. Instead of adding fuel to fire he should have given ideas to the centre to handle present Kashmir crisis. Criticising Omar’s handling of the 2010 unrest which claimed the lives of 120 civilians in police firing and shelling, Raina asked why didn’t the former Chief Minister termed the crisis as an administrative problem and resigned from the chief Ministership immediately.
He said Omar Abdullah has encouraged Pakistani and separatists forces in Kashmir and such statements were not expected from him on Kashmir unrest.
“Pakistan has made Kashmir a graveyard and believes that there is a fight between nationalist and anti-nationalist forces but the PDP-BJP government will not allow such elements to grow,” he added.
