KATRA: General house meeting of Senior Citizens Welfare Forum Katra was held here on Thursday which was chaired by President of the Forum Shiv Kumar Sharma who is also President J and K Indian Style Wrestling Association.
Besides discussing various general grievances faced by senior citizens of Katra town, the main stress was given to educate society to cast their votes positively on 2nd of December 2014, the date of polling in Reasi Constituency.
Noted poet of locality and Secretary of the Forum, Mohan Lal Sharma recited a Dogri poem on vote casting awareness amongst the society.
Shiv appealed to young generation to make full use of their right to strengthen democracy by casting vote.
Puran Chand Gupta and Sunder Dass Sharma retired lecturers also shared their experiences.
Vote of thanks was presented by Vice President of the Forum, Sukhdev Singh.
Prominent members present on the occasion were Om Parkash Magotra (Treasurer), Sham Lal Paroch, Ajit Lal Sharma, Sunder Dass Sharma, Mubarik Singh, Pandit Gopal Krishan (all Executive Members), Babu Ram Sharma, Paras Ram Sharma, Shubh Datt Puri, Vinod Kumar, Shanker Lal, Pushap Singh, Munshi Ram Verma, Sansar Chand, Hari Krishan Sanmotra, Ishar Dass Sharma, Lekh Raj and Karnail Singh Jambal.
