JAMMU: Highlighting the civic services being ignored by the concerned agencies including transport, market, health services, government schools, library, recreational edifice, etc in Upper Roop Nagar Colony, the residents of sector four have unanimously pledged to cast their votes only in favour of those candidates who would ensure proper development and up gradation of the civic amenities.
At a meeting held under the chairmanship of Sector 4, Roop Nagar Welfare Committee, President Narinder Sharma, residents expressed concern over the apathetic attitude of authorities for not providing basic needs to them since setting up of the Colony. “Upswept dilapidated interior roads speak volumes of the neglect. There is no proper garbage dumping sites and polythene bags lying scattered uncared. Some vulnerable corner continues plunging in darkness due to nonfunctional streetlights”, rued residents.
The residents pledged to vote in favour of candidates who would not play pranks but take care of proper development in the area.
