JAMMU: All J and K SRTC Volunteer Retired Employees Association on Wednesday criticised State SRTC administration for not clearing their pending dues.
Addressing the VRS employees in the meeting here on Wednesday, State President, VRS Union, Dev Raj Bali, said “our own department is doing injustice with us, as on one hand our services have gone and on the other hand our dues, which were promised to be cleared within 60 days from the date of VRS and GHS, are still pending.”
The leaders of the association said that they have been struggling for getting their legitimate dues for last more than six years and during this period 17 VRS/GHS employees lost their lives due to one or other disease, as they could not afford treatment for want of funds.
They strongly criticised the discriminating attitude of SRTC Department towards VRS and GHS employees and appealed to Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to intervene into the matter and get clear all their pending dues including COLA arrears with effect from 1999, Sixth Pay Commission arrears with effect from 1st January, 2006 and pension benefits.
They decided that if their demands are not acceded before 9th June, then they will hold a demonstration on 10th June at Press Club so that their voice may reach to the deaf ears of the Govt.
