Vocational training for women commences at Bhadarwah

BHADARWAH: Taking a cue from the government policies on empowerment of women, the Rashtriya Rifles located at Bhadarwah under the aegis of Counter Insurgency Force (Delta) started a three weeks candle making classes for women at Chinta, Bhadarwah under Operation Sadhbhavana. The course aims to assist the needy women to stand on their own feet and earn a niche for themselves in the society. The drive commenced on Wednesday with strength of 20 women and one instructor.
The project is aimed to bring about advancement, development and empowerment among the trainees by way of imparting them a skill which would help them to pursue an independent vocation and in turn make them confident and independent individuals.
The commencement of classes was inaugurated by Om Prakash Kotwal, the Sarpanch of Jalga Panchayat in presence of Jagdish Kotwal, Numberdar and local villagers. Women from socially and economically backward strata of society will be trained on nuances of candle making by the instructor.
