Vivekananda College celebrates Annual Sports Day

JAMMU: Vivekananda College of Education on Saturday celebrated Annual Sports Day in the college campus. The programme was divided in two sessions.

In the first session, Principal of the college, Dr. Anju Sharma was the Chief Guest who unfurled the Sports Flag and witnessed march past of the participants divided in five squads representing five houses of the college.

She said that Vivekananda College of Education creates benchmarks in excellence not only in studies but also in sports and games.

The College believes in the concept of integrated development of the individual with quality education as its watchword.

She declared the sports meet open in the presence of  faculty members and students.

Students participated in the events of 100 mtr. Race, Long Jump, High Jump, Shot Put, Kho-Kho, Volleyball, Chess, Caram Board and Tug of War.

Everyone enjoyed the events and cheered the participants. Funny events of Mataka Race and three leg race provided a lot of fun to participants and full recreation to the spectators. There was perfect weather and whole area was filled with a sense of enjoyable competitive spirit and camaraderie.

In second session Chief Guest distributed prize distribution.

The Chief Guest praised all the athletes and congratulated the winners. She distributed medals and certificates among the winners.  Vote of thanks was presented by Alka Kumari.
