Vishwa Bharati celebrates National Science Day

JAMMU: To mark the birthday of the Nobel Laureate Sir C.V Raman, National Science Day was celebrated at Vishwa Bharati Higher Secondary School, Akalpur Morh, here.
The programme commenced with lamp lighting ceremony followed by the welcome address by Susham Chib, Department of English.
Students delivered their speeches on importance of Yoga and performed various yoga Asanas.
Dr. T.R Raina, former Professor and Head Department of Haematology and Blood Bank, Government Medical College, was the Chief Guest who unveiled the portraits of renowned Ancient Indian Scientists Aryabhatta, Bhaskaracharya, Acharya Charak, Acharya Sushruta, Garga Muni, Varahamihira, Acharya Patanjali, Acharya Kapila, Baudhayana, Maharashi Bhardwaj, Nagarjun, Acharya Kanada, for whom Albert Einstein had all the praises.
In his eloquent address, he eulogised young students for their performance in performing different Yoga Asanas skillfully. He advised the students and teachers to practise yoga for a healthy and diseased – free life.
Dr. S.K Koul, Secreatry Vishwa Bharati Higher Secondary School also admired the students for their hard work and dedication in performing various yoga Asanas and advised them to make yoga a regular habit for good health.
The vote of thanks was presented by School Principal Prof. Annapurna Koul.
