Vishavkarma Day celebrated
UDHAMPUR : A large number of skilled workers of Udhampur town celebrated Vishavkarma Day on Friday here in Udhampur. In order to celebrate the historical day, various skilled workers kept their shops and establishments closed to perform tools Pooja and later they took out a Shoba Yatra.
The procession was taken out by workers of Vishavkarma Committee which commenced from Vishvkarma Temple which passed through National Highway, Domail Chowk, Slathia Chowk, Venus Chowk, Sallain Talab, Chabutra Bazaar, Main Bazaar, Gole Market, Indra Chowk, Town Hall Chowk and finally culminated back to temple.
In Shoba Yatra placards and banners depicting the images of Visavkarma Guru were displayed and devotees were chanting the Bhajan Kirtan. Thereafter a Yagya Havan was organised in the premises of Temple.
Speaking on the occasion District President Sham Lal Manhas lauded the role of the God Vishavkarma known as father of all skills. Later a Vishal Bhandra was also organised by the committee where large number of workers and public in general took Prashad and blessings of the God Vishavkarma.
RAJOURI : The Vishavkarma Day was celebrated the devotees with great pomp and show on Friday. They paid their obeisance at Vishavkarma Mandir and distributed Prasad after Pooja.
The categories of craftsmen, skilled persons, mechanics and other workers on this day worship their tools and go to the temple of Vishavkarma and pray for promotion of their skill, safety and flourishing of their business.
NOWSHERA: The skilled workers observed the Vishavkarma Day as non-working day and worshipped their tools. They also distributed sweets and Prasad after prayers to Lord Vishavkarma.
VIJAYPUR: The workers observed Vishavkarma Day with great zest and zeal. They organized Havan and Pooja in Vishavakarma Mandir and later distributed Langar to the devotees including men, women and children after the prayers.
