R S PURA : The residents of Kashmiri Basti in Brij Nagar, Miransahib who are in dark for the last one week, held a protest against the Power Development Department. The villagers blocked the Jammu – RS Pura road and raised slogans against the department and particularly against Deputy Chief Minister and local MLA for their failure to provide the essential services to the public.
According to the villagers the PDD officials had removed the burnt transformer but the same has not been replaced for the last one week due to which the people of the village are suffering during the scorching heat. Sarpanch Pawan Raina while addressing the protesters said that the Coalition Government has failed to provide basic amenities to the people. They demanded that their transformer be replaced immediately failing which they will block the road regularly. Prominent among those present in the protest include Ashok Koul, Jawahar Lal, Satpal, Buty Ram and Panch Harbans Nath.
