NOWSHERA: The residents of village Chak Jarallan held a protest against Nowshera Police for its inaction to recover the minor girl who was kidnapped by a youth of Dhargaloon, Tehsil Mendhar district Poonch on 19th April, 2015. The protesters blocked the Jammu – Poonch National Highway at Dandesar for1-1/2 hours.
According to report the 14 years minor girl was kidnapped by one Imtiyaz Ahmed son of Mohd Bashir resident of village Dhargaloon, Mendhar and in spite of lodging FIR 64/2015 under section 363A RPC, the police has not been able to recover the girl when the full address of the kidnapper was available
with them.
The police tried to use force on the protesters which was retaliated by the villagers and the relatives of the kidnapped girl in which three police cops and Sarpanch of the village received minor injuries. Meanwhile the ASP Nowshera Rakesh Kumar and SDPO Sargun Shukla also reached the spot and pacified the protesters. They assured that every effort will be made to recover the girl and arrest the kidnapper soon.
On their assurance and also keeping in view the problems of the passengers who were stuck in the scorching heat, the protesters lifted Dharna and the road was opened for traffic.
