UDHAMPUR : Residents of village Chiryai, have alleged large scale bungling in the execution of MGNREGA works in Panchayat Dhanoo, district Udhampur.
In a written complaint signed by over 50 villagers, they alleged that the works which have been shown executed and paid, in the Panchayat Dhanoo were only on paper and have not been executed on ground. They alleged that the work of the T-Road from Seri to Top has been shown completed and the Sarpanch of the village has accordingly been issued completion certificate but in reality the work hasnot been executed on ground. They further alleged that the names of Panchs, Sarpanchs and Numberdars appear repeatedly in the muster roll.
The villagers further said that construction work of B-Path and C-Path sanctioned in Mohra Bamma Village Chiryai were not executed on ground but the muster rolls were prepared fraudulently showing the same as completed adding that there were number of other works where nothing has been done on ground.
The villagers said that they had brought these irregularities and misappropriation to the notice of DC Udhampur, SSP, Block Development Officer and the Chief Vigilance Commissioner but no action has been taken till date.
They have appealed to the Vigilance Organisation and DC Udhampur to order an inquiry into the misappropriation of government funds.
