SAMBA: Vijaypur Zone boys clinched the under-14 football title outplaying Ghagwal Zone in the final of the inter-zonal district level tournament, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), here on Friday.
It was a 2-1 win for Vijaypur Zone. Shivraj Singh scored for the winning team while Atish and Ushagar played well throughout.
Meanwhile, the under-17 boys cricket final won by Purmandal Zone beating Samba ZONE by six wickets. Akash Koul was named Man of the Match for his match winning performance.
Later, in under-14 boys’ cricket title clash, Ramgarh Zone outplayed Vijaypur Zone by a margin of 30 runs. Kanhaiyal Lal was declared man of the match for his outstanding innings.
The competition held under the supervision of district officer Samba, Subash Chander Bhardwaj. The ZEPO Vijay Zone, Vijay Singh Slathia was also present.
Among others present were Rakesh Verma, B.D Sharma, Pardeep Singh and Raghubir Singh and Gaurav Abrol and Principal of MV International School.
The matches were officiated by the technical panel comprising Anirudh Singh, Bhupinder Singh, Roopa Sambyal, Rekha Sambyal, Sandeep Singh, Shashi Bala, Vinod Sharma, Raj Singh Chib, Kulbir Singh, Dhanraj Singh, Navjyoti Slathia, Bhawna Koul, Mukesh Sharm, Dalbir Singh Jamwal and Zorawar Singh Sambyal.
