Vicky Akash XI Pathankot, SC Club enter semifinals of 12th Police Martyr’s North Zone T-20

KATHUA: Vicky Akash XI Pathankot and SC Club entered the semifinals of the ongoing 12th Police Martyr’s Memorial North Zone T-20 Cricket Championship 2023-24 at Sports Stadium Kathua on Tuesday.
Earlier in the first quarter final match, Vicky Akash XI Pathankot thrashed Unique CA Delhi by 67 runs.

Unique CA Delhi won the toss and decided to field first. Vicky Akash XI Pathankot, batting first, scored 169 runs for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Unique CA Delhi failed to chase the target and managed to score 102 runs. Ankit Choudhary, who contributed 44 runs off 34 balls and claimed two wickets in his 4 overs spell by giving 30 runs, was declared as Man of the Match.

In second quarterfinal match, SC Club defeated Lifecare CC Lucknow by eight wickets. SC Club won the toss and decided to field first. While batting first, Lifecare CC Lucknow made 124 runs for the loss of ten wickets in 19 overs. Kunwarjeet Singh was the top scorer with 58 runs off 49 balls studded with eight boundaries. In reply, SC Club comfortably chased the target making 125 runs for the loss of two wickets in 17.1 overs.

Shivam Singh played a match winning knock of unbeaten 65 runs off 49 balls with ten boundaries and a six while Ankit also played well and scored 44 runs off balls with six boundaries. Ankit was declared as Man of the Match.

Among others, Addl. SP Paramjeet Singh, DSP (HQ) Manjeet Singh, DSP (DPL) Subash Chander, 12th Police Martyr’s memorial North Zone T-20 Cricket Patron Dr. Jatinder Singh, Ravinder Salathia, Manmohan Singh, Gourav Sharma and Rakesh Sumbria were present on the occasion.
