JAMMU: VHP State Patron Dr. Ramakant Dubey on Saturday expressed concern over the statement of Chief Justice of India (CJI) regarding demonetisation of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 currency notes.
In a handout released here, Dubey claimed that the CJI has overstepped his judicial parameters and given a political statement. “His statement regarding demonetisation of currency notes and subsequent chaos came with a warning that in case the situation is not controlled by the executive there appears a danger of escalation of trouble. Personal feelings of Chief Justice may hold good but overstepping his constitutional functions is not appreciable”, he said adding that available reports from the media, etc. do show some anguish by the public but it is the duty of the Executive to handle it to the extent possible. “From the long queues in front of financial institutions, both positive and negative versions are being seen. Majority of the people are appreciating the bold step of the administration in controlling the crimes due to overflowing of black money/Hawala Money. Many people in the long queue do plead for adequate measures but “It is a good step” is the general saying”, he maintained.
Dr. Dubey taking seriously the indulgence of the judiciary in the Executive appealed to the President/Parliament to ensure that a lesson goes to all the four pillars of the democracy to remain within their parameters.
