JAMMU: A meeting of international, national and State level leaders of Vishav Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal was held at Jammu to finalise the arrangements for Budha Amarnath Yatra. The Budha Amarnath Yatra, which earlier used to be performed at State level, was taken up at national level in 2005.
In this meeting the participants including Champat Rai International General Secretary VHP, Surinder Mohan Agarwal President Baba Amarnath and Budha Amarnath Yatra Niyas, Rajesh Pandey National Convener Bajrang Dal, Leela Karan Sharma VHP State President and others finalised the programme of Budha Amarnath Yatra. According to this programme the Budha Amarnath Yatra will commence on 9th August, 2016 when the first Jatha of Yatris will leave for Poonch. Bhumi Pujan and flag hoisting will be held on 8th August, 2016. The Yatra will continue up to Raksha Bandhan on 18th August, 2016. The Divisional Commissioner Jammu Pawan Kotwal will also be present in the Bhumi Pujan and flag hoisting besides the above leaders and other prominent people on 8th August, 2016.
