JAMMU: To review working of the Floriculture Department a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Secretary BPE, Horticulture and Floriculture Department Sanjeev Verma at Housing Board, Guest House, Gandhi Nagar.
The meeting was attended by Director Floriculture, K.K Sharma , Executive Engineer Floriculture Jammu, Pawan Gupta, Dy. Director Planning, Sunita Kanchan, all the Assistant Floriculture Officers of Jammu division and President Flower Growers Association S. Tajinder Singh.
The Secretary reviewed the Centrally Sponsored Schemes as well as State Plans. Director Floriculture Jammu appraised the Secretary about the progress achieved under various schemes.
The Secretary stressed upon all the officers to create application bank of farmers for various Centrally Sponsored Schemes and to prepare an inventory of progressive farmers before the onset of the financial year so that the farmers can avail the maximum benefits. In addition the Worthy Secretary also directed the officers to increase the number of seminar/awareness programmes to appraise the farming community at District/ Tehsil/ Block level to adopt floriculture crops to earn profits.
The Secretary also visited departmental nursery at Maralian and florist shop at Green Belt Park and directed the officers for proper use of these assets for public welfare.
