Vehicle lifter trio held, bike recovered

JAMMU: Police on Monday arrested three vehicle lifters and recovered stolen bike from their possession.
In order to curb the menace of Motor Vehicle theft in Jammu district a special Anti Vehicle Theft and Recovery team (AVTAR) constituted by Dr. Sunil Gupta, SSP Jammu, laid a special Naka near Vikram Chowk. During Naka checking, one Motor Cycle Hero Honda Splendor Black Colour bearing registration No. JKO2BB 5073 was signaled to stop for checking but on seeing Naka party the motorcyclist along with two accomplice tried to run away from the spot. They were chased and caught by the police party. On questioning the trio disclosed their identity as Neeraj Kumar, son of Tirlok Raj, and Ajay Kumar, son of Dewan Chand, both residents of R.S Pura and Manmeet Singh, son of Sardool Singh, resident of Miran Sahib, Jammu and when asked to produce documents of the motor cycle they failed to give a satisfactory reply. On suspicion, the Naka party arrested the suspected persons and on detailed questioning they confessed that the motor cycle in question is stolen by them from Miran Sahib Area. Police has not ruled out possibility of more recoveries.
The arrest was made by SI Balram Sharma I/C PP Nehru Market, Inspector Bishnesh Kumar SHO P/S Gandhi Nagar under the close supervision of Sachin Gupta, SDPO City South Jammu and Shahzad Salaria, SP City South, Jammu.
