Vedic Sansthan supports Smriti’s for making Sanskrit language compulsory in KVs

JAMMU: Vedic Sansthan Trust and Jyotish Kailakh on Tuesday extended their wholehearted support to HRD Minister Smriti Irani for making Sanskrit language compulsory as third language in the Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs).
Criticising the people involved in creating controversies in the matter, Kailakh said that Sanskrit is the mother of all languages and it is our responsibility to work for the development of this language. He said that Smriti has been doing a great job by giving Sanskrit its due share. On the issue of deteriorating relations with Germany, he said that stand taken by the Union HRD Minster is genuine as our Constitution clearly specifies that languages included in eighth schedule can only be taught as third language in KVs and Germany is not among them. He also refuted the allegation made by certain people that Irani is Saffronising the issue. The trust appealed to make Sanskrit language compulsory from 1st to 12th classes in CBSE and also in schools falling under various State boards.
Meanwhile, Vedic Sansthan Trust President Mahant Rohit Shastri condemned the statements of Mayawati and Mani Shanker Ayer on Smirti Irani that she is misguiding the society. Dr. C M Raina, Pt. Dev Dutt Shastri, Pt. Mool Raj Shastri, Pt. Bushan, Pt. Summit, Pt. Shakti Dutt and other Sanskrit scholars were also present.
