Varsha expresses grief over Dhalwas fire incident, seeks ex-gratia

RAMBAN: National Conference Provincial Secretary of Women Wing Amrit Varsha expressed deep sorrow and grief over the tragic deaths of 10 people and injury to four others in a fire incident that took place in Dalwas camp during the intervening night of 31st December 2015 and 1st January, 2016.
She visited the residential barracks of four-way Nashri Tunnel where the workers of Beig Construction Company (BCC) were staying and then the Emergency Hospital Batote. In her condolence message, she conveyed her sympathies, prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls and courage to the families to bear this irreparable loss. She also inquired about the health of injured and wished them early recovery.
Amrit Varsha demanded that a compensation of Rs 5 lakh with employment to the next of kin of the deceased be provided to the family at the earliest besides the relief amount from the Red Cross as directed by Chief Minister to the District Administration to the deceased and those under treatment.
She also discussed the matter with SSP Ramban Randeep Kumar and demanded proper inquiry into the incident and said that in case of failure on the part of employer a penal compensation must be paid to the families of victims.
