JAMMU: Various social and political organizations celebrated Birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh, a last ruler of J&K, with fervor and enthusiasm in Jammu.
Akhil Bharatiya Kshatriya Mahasabha Trust (ABKMT) celebrated birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh with fervor in trust headquarters, Gho Manhasa, Jammu. Aadil Manhas (UT President ABKMT), Rishipal Singh Parmar (National President ABKMT) Parshotam Amit Manhas (National General Secretary ABKMT) congratulated people of Jammu & Kashmir and highlighted numerous works done by the Legendary King besides acknowledging his contributions towards the society. The members also paid floral tributes to Maharaja. Others present on the occasion included Anirudh Manhas, Shikha Manhas, Ketan Jamwal, Aadish Jamwal, Shivam Jamwal and Sourab Partap Singh.
Manhas Mahasabha Jammu also celebrated birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh at Paloura. Prominent among others present on the occasion included Shivdev Singh Ex MLA, Ramankant Singh, Purshotam Singh, Kehar Singh, Balwant Singh, Sadhu Singh and Balbir Singh.
District Congress Committee Jammu Rural paid glorious tributes to Maharaja Hari Singh on his birth anniversary. On the occasion, senior Congress leader and former Minister Mula Ram; President DCC Rural Hari Singh Chib, President J&K Pradesh Youth Congress Uday Bhanu Chib, Corporator Ward-60 Rajni Bala, Block President Soma Nath, Vice Chairman Municipal Committee Gho Ram Pal along with several party workers and prominent people of the area paid tributes to Maharaja. While speaking on the occasion, Mula Ram highlighted the contribution of Maharaja Hari Singh. “Maharaja Hari Singh was really a hero of J&K who sacrificed his Kingdom for freedom of J&K,” he added. Hari Singh Chib and Uday Bhanu Chib also spoke on the occasion and highlighted contributions of the last Dogra ruler. Others present on the occasion included Dr Chander Mohan, Devraj, Om Prakash, Parshotam Kumar, ZEO (Retd) Kamal Singh, Parveen Ahktar, Varinder Mehta, Tarun Vaid, Bal ji Sharma, Rahul Padha, Rakesh Singh and Uttam Chand.
The 127th birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh was celebrated by Dogra Sadar Sabha, Jammu and Kashmir (DSS) with great reverence and enthusiasm. It was the first celebration of its kind after declaration of the day as an annual public holiday by the Union Territory administration. A number of public representatives from all walks of life, irrespective of region, religion, community, caste and profession thronged DSS to pay homage to the illustrious ‘Son of the Soil’. Speakers appreciated efforts of DSS for giving a befitting name to the auspicious day as Samajik Nyay Diwas. An appeal was made to the Government to ask all educational institutions and other government departments to celebrate the day. Poems and Dogri songs were rendered by renowned Dogra artists Randhir Singh Raipuria and C.S. Katal and beautiful Dogri Dance was presented by students of Dogra Law College to mark celebrations. Prominent among others present on the occasion included Thakur Gulchain Singh Charak, Kavinder Gupta, Major Gen (Retd) G S Jamwal, former Vice Chancellor Prof R D Sharma, former MLC Naresh Gupta, Col Karan Singh (Retd), Prem Sagar Gupta, Gambhir Dev Singh, Lt Gen (Retd) Rakesh Sharma, Amanat Ali Shah, Ajay Khajuria, Jagmohan Sharma and C M Sharma.
Charak Biradari Mahasabha, Jammu organized a grand function to celebrate birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh at Shiv Charak Bhawan, Greater Kailash which was attended by a large number of members from Charak Biradari. A seminar was also held on the life and works of Maharaja Hari Singh. Rakesh Singh Charak, President Charak Biradari Mahasabha, Swarn Singh Charak, President Managing Committee, Jai Data Ranpat Dev Maharaj Bhawan spoke on the occasion. Others present on the occasion included Jagdev Singh Charak, Balkar Singh Advisor, Pawan Singh Charak, Kher Singh, Ajeet Singh, Gar Singh, Kulbushan Singh and Ranjeet Singh.
