Various relief camps setup across Jammu district
JAMMU: While taking stock of the arrangements of the various camps set up in district Jammu for the firing victims of border area, Deputy Commissioner Jammu Ajit Kumar Sahu checked on various facilities provided at these camps.
He directed all SDMs and Tehsildars to provide daily report regarding loss of life and property and other damages due to border firing to ensure that hindrance free relief is provided to people. They are directed to ensure that all identified temporary shelter camps be made fully functional to meet the requirements of people taking shelter in these camps which include proper boarding facilities, meals, medicares etc.
As many as 16 relief camps have been set up in Jammu district which includes HSS Chakroi, HSS Dablehar, HS Pindi Sarochan, HS Haripur, HS Rangpur Malania, Sat Sangh Dewangarh, HSS RSPura, ITI RS Pura in RS Pura, Rehal HSS, Salerh HSS, Deoli, Golden Palace Deoli in Arnia/Bishnah, High School Rajpura, Gupta Farm Akhnoor in Akhnoor, and HSS Pargwal, HSS Domana.
RTO Jammu and General Manager SRTC have been directed to provide transport facilities to move people from their villages to camps wherever required and adequate medicines and fodder etc be made available at Bovine rescue and relief camps. Necessary arrangements are in place besides relief is also being provided to the owners of the cattle which were injured/dead during firing. Sahu informed that one bovine camp is already functioning at Chakrohi where fodder, and medical assistance is in place for the livestock of the firing migrants. Another camp shall come into operation at Rehal Tomorrow.
DDC has reiterated that free of cost treatment has been provided to injured in the border firing and to avail this facility they are informed to contact the government authorities in this regard. A Separate counter has been opened at Government Medical College supported by Red Cross Society where the injured are received, registered and free of cost medical facilities are provided to them. Also volunteers are present to assist the injured whose family members are not accompanying or are indispensible for the same.
Further to ensure that there is minimum loss of studies, CEO has been directed to run temporary schools in all shelter homes for the kids staying in these camps. The Anganwaris have also been made functional at these shelters.
SE’s PHE and PDD have been directed to ensure water and uninterrupted power supply in the relief camps. Mobile banking facilities shall also be provided to facilitate the campers and the matter has been taken up with the banks.
