BISHNAH: A meeting of Youth of Bishnah Constituency was organised by Gambhir Dev Singh Charak, Member PCC J and K along with other representatives of different areas under the aegis of Block Congress Committee Bishnah at its Party Headquarters Bishnah wherein more than 600 youths consisting of large number of prominent ones hailing from all over the Bishnah Constituency, Sarpanchs, Panchs and students participated.
The meeting was chaired by Gambhir Dev Singh Charak in which office bearers and member of Block Congress Committee Bishnah were specially invited.
Gulchain Singh Charak, former Minister and former Member CWC-AICC was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Various youth leaders speaking on the occasion showed their anguish over the worsening position of the area falling under Tehsil Bishnah and Tehsil Arnia due to devastating rains and floods during the last few days which has exposed the scams and misdeed of the authorities who in connivance with the local politicians were responsible for carrying out the unplanned works and have used material of low quality in carrying out the different developmental activities whether these are roads, culverts or bridges. They were also critical about the mis-management in providing proper electricity in the area.
Explaining the plight of the large number of people who have been affected by devastating floods and have lost their property and animals and many of them have even lost their shelter/houses being fully or partially damaged he said they are now compelled to live under open sky.
Many Youth leaders while expressing their views also threw light on other problems of the people living near the Indo-Pak border who have not yet recovered from the pain and loss of life, houses and belongings due to the heavy shelling from across the border and now they are facing acute hardships due to the recent floods caused by the incessant rains for the last few days.
In the meeting, various resolutions were adopted which include proper compensation be granted to the people affected by the recent rains and floods, damaged roads, bridges and lanes etc affected by the floods be immediately restored, immediate special measures be taken to repair the Dhamala Causeway which connects the whole border belt with rest of the Arnia Tehil, special recruitment drive be carried out for the youths living in this most neglected and backward constituency, as already promised 5 Marlas plot be immediately allotted to the people living near the border in some safer place, proper buildings and play grounds be provided to the Degree College Bishnah after earmarking a separate piece of land for the purpose etc.
Gambhir Dev Singh Charak appreciating the concern shown by the youth leaders about the plight of the people of this constituency offered his full support in all respects for launching a vigorous struggle for the same and said that we will start touring all the areas to educate the youths and elders against the politicians who try to mislead the youths by their dirty tactics.
Gulchain Singh Charak addressing the youth disclosed that he alongwith other leaders of the area will not only support the above mentioned resolutions but they will lead the struggle from the front and will do everything which is required for the bright future of the youth.
Charak urged upon the government to take immediate necessary steps for the proper arrangements for the people who suffered a lot because of the havoc created by the rains and floods.
