Valley unrest: JAC extends support to Mehbooba, State coalition

JAMMU: Joint Action Committee (JAC) and Jammu Kashmir General Category Welfare Forum on Saturday extended whole hearted support to Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Prime Minister Modi in tackling the deteriorating situation in the Kashmir Valley since the killing of dreaded terrorist Burhan Wani on 8th July.
In a meeting held under the Chairmanship of Ved Prakash Sharma and in presence of Narayan Singh President Rajput Sabha, Syed Shamim Ahmed Chairman JKGCWF, here at Brahman Sabha Parade the members expressed faith and solidarity in the leadership of Mehbooba Mufti and Narendra Modi in overall tackling of the turmoil in Kashmir. The Committee lauded the efforts of coalition Government in dealing with the anti social elements operating in the state. “The Government has exercised maximum restraint while handling the stone pelting protesters otherwise the casualties would have swollen day by day. The present dispensations at Center and state are working in tandem to ensure that peace is restored soon”, the meeting said. The members also appreciated the programmes and policies of State and Central Governments for ensuring that benefits of all schemes reach to poor and destitute.
“All concessions whether reservations or financial concessions should be given to people on economic basis”, the meeting stressed. The members also requested the State Government to expedite the disposal of the petition challenging High Court judgment on no reservation in promotions and issue necessary instructions to all departments for following the orders of Supreme Court in letter and spirit while making promotions.
