JAMMU: Mandli J and K Suryagram, Vikas Samiti, NGO State President Jaseel Singh Salathia in a meeting held at Jammu strongly criticized the Coalition Government which has totally failed to address the grievances of the people of entire Kashmir Valley who are on strike for the last more than four and a half months. He said that it was the longest ever strike which necessitated curfew for such a long period and people had to remain without commodities of daily need and the pity is that the calendar of strike continues for an indefinite period. He further said that not only the Secretariat which remained without business at Srinagar during this period but the official works in government offices, education in schools, colleges and University and private business also remained affected thereby bringing the life of a common man to a standstill situation alternatively generating violence. Salathia further said that silence or inaction in this situation is no solution to the problem but the efforts on the part of various public representatives, legislators, Ministers and even the Chief Minister who need to reach to the people feel their pulse and redress their grievances. He regretted that instead of providing them a healing touch, the representatives they sent to the Assembly to govern, either deserted the Valley or remained confined to their abodes. Salathia cautioned that before the situation takes an ugly turn, the Coalition government should reach to the people and make efforts to redress their grievances.
