JAMMU: J&K United School Teachers Association (USTA) sought adjustment of leftover promotee masters of February 2014.
In the meeting held here on Sunday, Hari Singh, Provincial President of the Association criticised the dilly-dallying policy of the State Government particularly the Education Department for deliberately delaying the adjustment of 581 leftout promotee masters of Jammu Province.
The association members criticized the State as well as Central Government for its failure to release timely grants under Centrally Sponsored Schemes i.e, SSA and RMSA. The teachers working under these schemes are at the verge of starvation as they are without salary for last so many months, they said.
The meeting expressed concern over the fact that thousands of lecturers, headmasters and principals have not been regularised even after years of their promotion. The other demands raised in the meeting were release of senior teacher grade in favour of trained under graduate teachers, debaring teachers from all types of non-academic assignments, filling all vacant posts of teachers, lecturers, Headmasters etc. in rural areas, starting pre-primary classes in all schools having primary classes, holding of DPCs for all cadres after every six months, transfer policy for regularised ReT teachers, etc.
The association members appealed to the State Government to consider their long pending demands at the earliest otherwise the association will be compelled to resort to agitational path.
