JAMMU: A large number of activists of J and K United School Teachers Association (USTA) on Monday assembled near Press Club and held massive protest to focus on the long pending demands of the teacher fraternity.
Speaking on the occasion, USTA President, Hari Singh expressed grave concern over the non serious and indifferent attitude of the State Government towards their long pending demands of the teaching community which are still unaddressed by the government. Hari Singh and Rajeev Kumar, while speaking to media, demanded to modify irrational, arbitrary and transfer orders made by DSE Jammu, adjust masters whose DPC was made in Feb, 2014, release of pending salary of ReT teachers and Masters, 4th and 5th installment of Sixth Pay Commission arrears and DA arrear of masters working under SSA and other long pending demands. They condemned the non-release of salaries and other arrears to a large section of teaching fraternity for quite a long time, which has made their life miserably deplorable. Others present in the protest included Rajeev Kumar, Kanta Jamwal, Dr. Shashi Paul Singh, Roop Lal, Angat Singh, Pardeep Singh, Siraju-Din, Raj Kumar, Ashok Kumar, Balwant Singh, Kishori Lal and Madan Singh.
