STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: United School Teachers Association (USTA) is decided to hold protest on 9th August 2016 in support of their demands including implementation of transfer policy in letter and spirit.
Expressing concern over the problems being faced by the teaching community, the association asserted that the salaries of the teacher’s are not being released in time and delayed inordinately for months and even years together. Moreover when the Central Government has released the new pay scales recommended by Seventh Pay Commission, certain categories of teachers in the J and K State are yet to receive the arrears of Sixth Pay Commission. It appears that State Government has deliberately adopted a stub born attitude towards the genuine demands of the state employees in general and teaching community in particular.
The association were demanding adjustment of Masters whose DPC was made in February 2014, release senior teacher grade in favour of trained under graduate teacher and remove pay anomalies in their grade, release pending installments of Sixth Pay Commission of SSA Teachers, release seven month’s salary of newly appointed teachers, regularise all ReTs converted from EVs who have completed five years, engage teachers on leave -arrangement against teachers proceeding on leave exceeding one month, start pre-primary classes in all schools having primary classes, fill all vacant posts in schools and debar teachers from non academic duties, withdraw new pension scheme and restore old pension scheme.
The association called upon the State Government to concede the demands at the earliest otherwise USTA will be compelled to intensify struggle ahead.
