USC hails Police Deptt for arresting accused
STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: United Sikh Council (USC), Jammu and Kashmir, praised the Police Department especially Shahzad Salaria for his sincere and professional attitude in quickly arresting the accused Deepak Singh Thakur and respecting the sensitive emotions of Sikh community.
Talking to reporters here on Saturday, Kuldeep Singh, Chairman USC, said Deepak posted defamatory and derogatory remarks against Sikh’s Guru on social media.
Earlier in year 2016, Kuldeep said, Deepak also posted such remarks on social media for which United Sikh Council protested and an FIR was lodged on 28th March 2016.
But at that time Deepak Singh Thakur evaded arrest and was absconding since then, he added.
Because Deepak was not arrested last year, he again posted defamatory and sentiment hurting remarks against Sikh Guru on social media, Kuldeep alleged.
Now acting on the complaint lodged by the USC members Shahzad Salaria, SP South handled the matter and arrested Deepak Thakur and put him behind bars at Police Station Gandhi Nagar.
Kuldeep expressed gratitude to Shahzad for taking quick action on their complaint.
