Dear Editor,
The Upanishads are a storehouse of man-making wisdom. They have nurtured not just the natives of this country, but also those in foreign lands who cared to study these in depth. It is this wisdom that speaks in the language of religions, nurtured in the soil of this land, in the poetry of the saints from the north to the south and from east to the west. It is the source of that energy that led to the birth of a scientific language like Sanskrit and a man-making discipline like yoga.
This wisdom has sustained the people of this land despite the mayhem brought by barbarians from outside, and selfish rulers and people through centuries. This is not just harking back to a golden past. It is the foundation on which this country shall rise again, for it removes pettiness and selfishness and fills one with energy to do good in whatever work one undertakes.
