‘SAUHARD’ Inter-University Chancellor’s Trophy-2023 ends

JAMMU: University of Jammu (JU) repeated history by lifting the Overall Trophy by clinching top spot in nine disciplines and second spot in one discipline of the “SAUHARD” Inter-University Chancellor’s Trophy-2023 for Men and Women organized by the Directorate of Sports & Physical Education at University of Jammu from March 15 to 17, 2023. Mayor Jammu, Rajinder Sharma was the Chief Guest on the valedictory-cum-prize distribution function of the event, who presented trophies to winner teams in the presence of Prof. Umesh Rai Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, and Ranjeet Kalra member Sports Council, amidst a large number of gathering of dignitaries, players and officials of the participating Universities, employees and students of the University as well as the people from the civil society. While addressing the gathering, Rajinder Sharma congratulated the organizers for organizing such type of sports events, which will provide an opportunity to the students of the various universities to come closer to each other besides showing their sports talent.
He also appreciated the mass participation of the players and officials accompanying their teams at the various universities. Prof. Umesh Rai lauded the efforts of the whole team of Directorate of Sports and Physical Education for organizing this mega event.
Earlier, Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, JU presented a welcome address and report of the tournament. The proceedings of the function were conducted by Dr. Komal Nagar, I/c Assistant Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education.

University of Jammu emerged winner of men Athletics Championship while Cluster University reamined runner-up.
In Women Athletics, University of Jammu emerged winner and SMVDU Katra as runner-up.
