Udhampur Police undertakes incineration of 1500 kg of seized narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances

UDHAMPUR: District Drug destruction committee headed by Dr. Vinod Kumar-IPS SSP Udhampur and comprising of Anwar Ul Haq Addl. SP Udhampur, Shahid Nahiem DySP DAR Udhampur, Gurmeet Singh DySP Hqrs Udhampur, Vishal Manhas SDPO Ramnagar, Darshan Singh Sr. PO Udhampur and Om Parkash DySP DPO Udhampur, conducted the destruction of narcotic and psychotropic substances  seized in different 78 cases through incineration in M/S Anmol Healthcare Rakh Rara, Swankha Morh, Vijaypur, Samba.

During incineration 1380 Kgs of poppy straw, 85 Kgs of charas, 1kg 200 grams heroin (Chitta) and 816 no. of proxyvon capsules have been duly incinerated following all the codal formalities.

The entire process was done in which Executive Magistrate and officers from Pollution Control Board also accompanied the drug destruction committee. Before this the seized nacrotics in all the 78 cases were case wise checked, weighted and tallied with the record. The entire process, right from godown upto incinerator was duly videographed and kept under proper security.

Pertinently these 78 cases have already  been decided by the Hon’ble courts and were shortlisted by a committee comprising of CJM, ADC and Addl SP Udhampur.
