JAMMU: Central University of Jammu (CUJ) on Friday felicitated winners of UDAAN-2015, held in the months of January and February, at a prize distribution function organised in the varsity’s temporary block.
On the occasion, Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof Ashok Aima was the Chief Guest.
Prof. Aima announced, “The Central University of Jammu has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Central University of Kashmir and Central University of Himachal Pradesh to make interuniversity interaction between faculty, scholars and students.”
He encouraged students to participate more in sports as it brings discipline and determination in life and congratulated all the prize winners.
In the function, prizes were distributed among 97 students and scholars who participated and emerged winners in various events including rangoli, poetry recitation, folk group song, light vocal solo, photography, on the spot painting, collage, mimicry and fancy dress. For sport meet, about 70 students and scholars were awarded in around 17 events.
In the sports meet students participated in Chess (women), Chess (men), Shotput (women), Shotput (men), Volleyball (men), Table Tennis Singles (men), Table Tennis Doubles (men), Table Tennis Singles (women), Table Tennis Doubles (women) Carrom (women), Carrom (men), Badminton Singles (women), Badminton Doubles (women), Badminton Singles (men), Badminton Doubles (men) Basketball (men) and Basketball (women).
