Two miscreants held with sharp-edged weapons

JAMMU: Police on Thursday arrested two miscreants and recovered sharp-edge weapons from their possession while two others managed to escape from the spot.
According to reports, Gharota Police laid on Naka near Central Jail, Kot Bhalwal, Jammu intercepted two motor cycles (riders and pillion riders) on way from Jammu City to Kot Bhalwal.
On seeing the police, both the motorcyclists tried to run away but in the meanwhile one motorcycle bearing registration No JKO2BF/7429 was intercepted. During checking, police recovered two sharp-edge weapons (Tokas) from their possession.
The arrested persons have been identified as Amit Saini, son of Saudagar Mal, resident of Jeevan Nagar and Vikas Majotra alias Sonu, son of Tilak Raj, resident of Nai Basti, Jammu.
On questioning, they further disclosed that two person on other motor cycle who managed to runaway were Avneet Singh alias Negi, son of Vikram Singh and Harvinder Singh alias Jannu, son of Tarvinder both residents of R S Pura and were having pistol with them.
“All of them were on their way to eliminate one Shahid Hussain alias Raju son of Ahmed Hussain, resident of Channi, who had come along with his father to meet his brother Saddam Hussain lodged in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal,” a police spokesman said.
Timely action by police prevented a heinous crime and save a precious life.
On this, a case FIR No 14/2017 under Section 4/25 Arms Act 120-B/115 RPC was registered at Police Station Gharota and further investigation of the case is going on.
