Srinagar: Two militants were killed and as many security personnel injured in an encounter in Tangmarg area of Baramulla district of Kashmir today.
The gunbattle broke out after security forces launched a search operation in Khonchipora village of Tangmarg, 35 kms from here, following information about presence of two militants in the area, a police official said.
He said two jawans were injured in the initial exchange of firing between the two sides.
“Two militants were also killed in the encounter and two AK assault rifles were recovered from the scene of the gunbattle which began at 6.30 AM,” the official said.
