Jammu: Two members of a family were killed and another injured when a vehicle crushed them at the bank of a canal in Chandiya village of Kanachak belt, police said today.
The victims, Niki Singh, Prakasho Devi and Krishna Devi were sitting on the bank last evening when one Darshan Kumar lost control over his car and hit them, they said.
Niki and Prakasho died on the spot while Krishna was admitted to a hospital.
A case has been registered in the matter and the accused driver arrested, they said.
Meanwhile, in another incident, Tarseem Lal (55) and his son Rakesh Kumar (25) were killed last night when an unidentified vehicle hit their motorcycle on Jammu-Pathankot highway at Barnoti belt in Kathua district.
They were critically injured and were rushed to hospital, where doctors declared them brought dead, police said.
The bodies have been handed over to the family after postmortem, they added.
