SRINAGAR: Two alleged drug peddlers were today arrested and four kg poppy straw was recovered from their possession in south Kashmir’s Shopian district, police said. A police party laid a naka at Zainapora crossing. During checking, motorcycle bearing registration number JK13-7118 driven by Riyaz Ahmad Makroo, resident of Arwani Bijbehara along with a pillion mate Awrangzeb Bhat, resident of Arwani was intercepted.. “On search, four kg of poppy straw was recovered from their possession,” a police spokesman said here. A case FIR number 86/2016 under Section 15 NDPS Act was registered against them and investigation was taken up.
